    Khalil Ma’touq is a lawyer and a human rights defender. He was arrested with a friend, Mohammed Thatha by the Syrian authorities, on 2 October 2012, in the Damascus suburb of Sahnaya.

    Mohamed Meqdad was arrested on 20 September 2012 for his humanitarian activities.

    In addition to his work as a volunteer with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, he used to distribute food, blankets, and other necessities to people he had identified as needy.
