His fate and whereabouts remain unknown

Mr Roshdy al-Cheikh Rasheed is the vice-president of the Arab Organization for Human Rights (AOHR) in Syria, an international organisation with UN-ECOSOC consultative status whose objective is to promote adherence to human rights principles in Arab states. On 31 January 2014, he was taken by plain-clothes individuals from his home in the city of Tadmor, a city under control of government forces, to an unknown location. Roshdy al-Cheikh Rasheed fled Homs to Tadmor in 2013 in order to seek medical attention for an injury he sustained whilst documenting human rights violations during armed battles in Homs. His whereabouts remain unknown
